Wilmington Drama League 2025 - 2026 Season

The Wilmington Drama League's 2025-2026 season will showcase a variety of shows ranging from Broadway favorites to family favorites and hit musicals. And, as with every Wilmington Drama League season, it's one of the most affordable tickets in town.
SHOW START TIME NOTE:
Angels in America performances start at 7:30pm for evening shows, and 2pm for matinees.
The Little Mermaid performances start at 7:30pm for evening shows, and 2pm for matinees.
All other shows have 8pm evening start times and 2pm matinees
September 12 - 21, 2025*
Angels In America, Part One: Millennium Approaches is the first part of Tony Kushner’s Pulitzer and Tony-winning epic, and introduces two couples—one gay, one closeted and Mormon—grappling with AIDS, identity, and abandonment in 1980s New York. As their lives unravel, ghosts and visions begin to intrude, hinting at a greater, otherworldly reckoning.
October 10 - 19, 2025*
Angels In America, Part Two: Perestroika is the powerful conclusion to Kushner’s landmark work, where heaven itself breaks down as angels, ancestors, and political ghosts push the characters toward revelation and rebirth. As illness progresses and relationships fracture, the play explores forgiveness, prophecy, and survival in a collapsing world.
November 6 -9, 2025
The Trail To Oregon!, part of our Black Box Series, is a rollicking, audience participation, choose your own ending musical that follows the misadventures of a quirky pioneer family as they journey westward along the Oregon Trail in the 19th century. Enjoy the fun and try not to die of dysentery!
December 12 - 28, 2025
Based on the classic Disney movie, The Little Mermaid has a Tony nominated score and tells the story of a young mermaid, Ariel, who longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. "Combines story, song and inventive staging into something that lifts our spirits and renews our faith that theater for 'children' can be enjoyed by everyone." - Time Magazine
February 6 & 7, 2026
The Ruby Stanley One-Act Festival is named for a late longtime Wilmington Drama League volunteer, board member and costume mistress. The production, which frequently features original works by local playwrights, culminates with a two-day festival in which audience members vote for their favorite play. The winner then represents the Wilmington Drama League at the state, and often regional, level.
April 24 - May 3, 2026
Ride the Cyclone, a catchy, hook laden musical, has developed a devoted following and tells the story of a roller coaster malfunction that results in the riders awakening in a mysterious afterlife. The Amazing Karnak fortune telling machine offers them a chance to plead their case and convince him to send one of them back to the world of the living!

MAY 1 - 4, 2025
Bug, the Lortel and Obie Award-winning play by Tracy Letts (August: Osage County) explores paranoia, conspiracy theories and violence in a grippingly intimate setting.
May 30 - June 15, 2025
Winner of the 8 Tony Awards including Best Musical, Hairspray combines 60’s style R&B and infectious dancing as underdog Tracy campaigns to integrate a TV teen dance program. Loads of fun and a great message!
