Auditions for Bug

WHEN

February 10 & 11:  7-9 pm (check in by 8:30pm)​

Director Eric Merlino is looking for strong actors for the play, Bug, by Tracy Letts (August: Osage County).  It will be part of WDL’s black box series and will be presented on the stage.  He is looking for two male presenting, two female presenting and one additional cast member of any gender presentation.  Note that the roles of Agnes and Peter will require some intense scenes that include blood effects, violence and sexuality.  There will also be scenes involving minimal clothing [underwear (Peter) and underwear/bra (Agnes).  The story involves a veteran drifter, Peter, who draws Agnes (a down on her luck waitress) into a web of psychological obsession and mutual dissolution.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. 

 

No appointment necessary. Please sign in by 8:30 pm. No monologue necessary, the audition consists of cold readings from the script.  Performances are April 4, 5, 11, 12 at 8 pm and April 6 & 13 at 2 pm.

Performances: MAY 1-4, 2025

Characters: 

Agnes White (Plays 30’s – 40’s) – suggestible, victim of domestic violence

Peter Evans (Plays 30’s – 40’s) - ex-veteran, drifter, obsessive

R.C. (plays 20s – 40s) – friend of Agnes; lesbian, strong, tough

Jerry Goss (plays 30’s – 40’s) - rough, abusive ex-husband of Agnes

Dr. Sweet (plays 40’s – 50’s) – small put pivotal role as a concerned army psychiatrist
